After reading Stern et al., Chapter 8 you should be familiar with the following vocabulary as it applies to the topic at hand:

Startle Response
Recitification
Integration

And you should be able to answer these questions after reading Stern et al., Chapter 8:

1. What does EMG stand for? What does it measure?

2. Why do we use two electrodes to measure the activity of each muscle we are interested in? And then, what are two guidelines for placing the two?

3. Describe the procedure for preparing a subject to have their EMG recorded.
