After reading Dawson et al., pgs. 200-206 you should be familiar with the following vocabulary as it applies to the topic at hand:
EDA
SCL
SCR
Apocrine gland
Eccrine gland
And you should be able to answer these questions after reading Dawson et al., pgs. 200-206:
1. Does EDA correspond to parasymathetic or sympathetic nervous system activation? What evidence is used to suggest this?
2. We measure skin conductance in the ICR, which means we pass a small amount of voltage (.5v) to the electrodes placed on the subject's hands. How is this different from how we measure EMG and heart rate?
3. The type of gel we put in the electrodes when measuring skin conductance is also different from the type of gel used when measuring EMG and heart rate. How is it different? What suggestions does the chapter give you for selecting the type of gel to use?
4. Where do we place the electrodes on the hand? What hand do we use? Why?
